First,
go to www.mirc.com,
click on Download mIRC from the left side panel then choose the
download server that is closest to you. Double Click on your
installation file, and Install it. Open the program, click
Continue, and put in your SFV username, and other information to
be able to use mIRC, then click Ok
**NOTE** If you copy the install program file to a CD-R disk,
then your timed session for trial never goes down. Also note
that even if the trial runs out, you are not required to
purchase the product.
Click in the bottom bar and type this exactly, /server
irc.st0rmhosting.com. You are now in the chatroom #thehangout,
if you want to join the clan SFV chat room type /join #clansfv.
Now, you need to register your nickname so that you can receive
a status in channels.
+ = Voice
% = Half Op
@ = Op
& = Protected Op
~ = Owner
To register your nickname type /ns register password e-mail
Replace password with your requested password and e-mail with
your e-mail. Now, whenever you log on, you want to identify. To
identify, you type “/ns identify password”. To avoid having
to type this every time you long on, use your perform list. To
get to this list, hit the button on the top left corner with the
hammer. On the list on the side, click on ‘Options’ and then
click the ‘Perform’ button. In that text box, you first
should enter “/ns identify password” and then all then all
the channels you wish to join, ex. “/join #clansfv”,
remember, each command must be on a separate line, you can’t
enter “/ns identify pass /join #clansfv /join #coolserv”. It
has to be setup like the following;
/ns identify pass
/join #clansfv
/join #coolserv
You should check out the options you have selected and
unselected, one handy option is “Rejoin channel when kicked”
under the “IRC” tab. It is mostly self explanatory, you
automatically rejoin a channel if you get kicked from it, so
that you don’t have to re-type /join #clansfv.
Those are the basics, the following are the admin commands.
Voiced users have no power to kick, ban, or change any channel
settings. Voiced users are only allowed to talk in a moderated
channel, as regular users cannot. To give someone temporary VOP
status type /mode #channelname +v username. To permanently add
them to VOP status type /cs VOP #channelname ADD username
Half-Operators have the ability to kick and ban voiced and
regular users. They also have the ability to unban any hostmask
within the channel. They have minimal access to chanserv. They
may change channel modes and change the topic title only.
Half-Operators may ban Operators, Protected Operators, and the
channel Owner, but may not kick them. To give someone a
temporary Half-Operator status you must be an Operator or higher
status. To do this, type /mode #channelname +h username. To
permanently add them a user to Half-Operator status type /cs HOP
#channelname ADD username.
Operators have the ability to kick and ban regular, voiced, and
Half-Operators. They can unban any hostmask within the channel.
They have a moderate access to chanserv including access to
change channel modes, topic title, and add Half-Operators and
VOPs(voiced users). They can ban Protected Operators and the
channel Owner, but can not kick them. To give someone a
temporary Operator status you must be an Operator or higher
status. To do this, type /mode #channelname +o username. To give
a permanent Operator status you must be a Protected Operator or
higher. To do this, type /cs OP #channelname ADD username
Protected Operators(SOP) have the ability to kick and ban
everyone excepted the channel Owner and fellow SOPs. They can
ban any hostmask as well as unban it. They have nearly full
access to chanserv except for the ability to add fellow SOPs. To
give someone a temporary SOP status, you must be the channel
Owner. To do this, type /mode #channelname +oa username. To
permanently add a user to SOP status type /cs SOP #channelname
ADD username. You must be a channel Owner to do this as well.
Owners have the ability to do everything. They may kick, ban,
remove, and add anyone from any list anywhere in the channel. A
channel Owner is completely protected from any form of kicking.
To become a channel Owner, you must have the channel password
and identify to chanserv. To identify to chanserv, type /cs
identify #channelname password. You also may become an Owner by
founding a room. To found a room, type /cs register #channelname
password description.
Channel modes can be changed by simply typing /mode #channelname
+entermodehere
